Family ID Income Correction Rejected? What to Do Next for a Fresh Review
If your Family ID income correction has been rejected, do not edit the income figure yourself and do not file the same request again unchanged. First open your earlier case through Add/view Grievance and read its status and reason with the ticket ID. Then fix exactly what was missing — the service-wise information or the supportive documents for that service — and file a fresh Correction or Grievance case that answers the rejection reason. If the income you are disputing was assessed by a Local Committee, that challenge is routed to a Sector Committee, and you can also take your PPP ID and documents to the Additional Deputy Commissioner office, which was given power to update PPP income after document verification.
A rejection closes one filing. It does not change the verified income on its own, and it does not remove these review routes.
Read the Closed Case Before You Open a New One
Start with the ticket, not with a new form.
Use the ticket ID and the SMS confirmation from your first filing to open the case in Add/view Grievance. Note three things in writing: the final status shown, any reason or remark recorded against the case, and the exact verified income that is still shown in the Family ID after the decision.
This step decides everything that follows. A case closed because the service-wise information was incomplete needs a different fresh filing from a case where the documents did not support the income claimed. Repeating the first filing word for word, with the same documents, gives the review nothing new to decide on.
If you have lost the ticket ID, do not guess it. Use the registered Head of Family mobile and the SMS record first, and take assisted help at a CSC, SARAL Kendra or through a PPP Operator to trace the filing before you submit anything fresh.
Match the Fresh Filing to the Reason You Found
Once you know why the first case did not succeed, prepare the fresh case around that one reason.
If information was missing, complete the service-wise details in full this time: the income shown in PPP, the income you say is correct, and the benefit or exclusion affected by the figure. If documents were the gap, provide the supportive documents as defined for the service you select — the grievance guide defines documents service-wise, so the list on that service screen is the list to follow, not a general list from another scheme.
Choose the route that fits the problem, as the official reply describes it. Correction is for correcting the record detail through the correction module. Grievance is for a service-linked complaint, including where the guide lists an income grievance type such as family income being incorrect. File once, in one route, and keep the new ticket ID separate from the old one so the two cases are never mixed up.
Do not file the fresh case while the first case is still shown as pending. Pending and rejected are different positions: pending means the first case is still in routing, while a closed or rejected status is the point at which a fresh, corrected filing makes sense.

How the Fresh Case Moves After You Submit It
The routing after a fresh filing follows the same official path described for income contests.
An exclusion challenge — where the wrong income has kept the family out of a benefit — is pushed electronically for online verification. A challenge to income assessed by a Local Committee is pushed to a higher Sector Committee with a similar composition, so the fresh assessment is not made by the same local panel.
On submission, a new ticket ID is generated and an SMS confirms the filing with its date, time and tracking ID. Keep the new SMS with the old ticket record. Together they show the sequence clearly if anyone later asks what was filed first and what was filed after the rejection, and with what change.
The official sources used here do not state a fixed number of days for a fresh review decision. Follow the new ticket in Add/view Grievance instead of relying on a date promised elsewhere.
The ADC Office Route When Documents Need to Be Seen
Some income disputes turn on papers that need to be examined, not only uploaded. For those cases, the government has named a district-level route.
In an official HPPA statement in June 2023, Additional Deputy Commissioners were given overriding power to update the income entered in PPP after verifying it on the basis of documents. In the Legislative Assembly, citizens with PPP complaints were also directed to approach the ADC office with the PPP ID of the beneficiary concerned.
If you use this route, go prepared in one visit: carry your Family ID number, the old ticket ID and its outcome, the new ticket ID if you have already filed afresh, and the documents that support the income you claim. State the case in numbers — income shown in PPP, income claimed, and the difference — so the office works from the record, not from a general complaint.
This route sits alongside the portal routes; it does not replace keeping your portal filing and ticket in order.
Three Mistakes That Waste a Fresh Review
The first is filing again with nothing changed. A fresh review needs a fresh basis: completed information, the service-wise documents that were missing, or a clear point the first filing did not state.
The second is trying to type over a verified income in the update screen. The official citizen information is clear that a field which has completed verification cannot be edited in that flow. The change has to come through the contest routes above.
The third is paying an unofficial agent for a separate form. No separate paid form changes a verified PPP income. Assisted help means the authorised centres named in the official information — CSC, SARAL Kendra, Atal Seva Kendra or a PPP Operator — with the filing recorded in the official system and a ticket ID issued.

Conclusion
A rejected income correction is a closed filing, not a closed door — provided the next step is different from the last one. Read the old case in Add/view Grievance and note its reason, build the fresh Correction or Grievance filing around that reason with complete service-wise information and documents, keep the new ticket ID apart from the old one, and let it move through online verification or to a Sector Committee. Where the dispute rests on documents that need examination, take the PPP ID, both ticket records and those documents to the ADC office. That sequence gives the fresh review something the first filing did not have.
FAQs
1. My correction shows rejected, but no reason is visible in the status. What should I do first?
Do not refile blind. Note the ticket ID, the status date and the verified income still shown, then take assisted help at a CSC, SARAL Kendra or through a PPP Operator to read the case record properly. A fresh filing prepared without knowing the gap usually repeats it.
2. Should my fresh filing mention the old ticket ID?
Yes, keep both records together and refer to the earlier filing in your service-wise information, so the reviewer can see this is a corrected case after a rejection, not a duplicate of a pending case. Keep the new ticket ID separately for tracking the fresh decision.
3. The income I dispute was decided by the Local Committee. Does a fresh case go back to the same committee?
No. The Assembly reply states that requests challenging income assessed by a Local Committee are pushed to higher-level Sector Committees with a similar composition.
4. Can the ADC office change the income, or is the portal the only way?
The portal Correction and Grievance routes are the designated online mechanisms. Separately, an official HPPA statement gave Additional Deputy Commissioners overriding power to update PPP income after verifying documents, so the ADC office is a named district route for document-based cases — take your PPP ID and papers with you.
5. How long will a fresh review take after a rejection?
The official sources used for this article do not give a fixed time limit for the decision. Track the new ticket through Add/view Grievance and keep the confirmation SMS; that record, not an outside estimate, shows where the case stands.
