Family ID Cancellation in Haryana: Which Families Are Affected Under the New Rules

A big decision has been taken for lakhs of families in Haryana. Under the new rules of Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP), the Family ID of many families will be cancelled or deactivated. The orders have been issued with immediate effect by the Haryana Family Identity Authority.

This is not a rumour. The Haryana Parivar Pehchan Authority has made proper regulations for deactivation of Parivar Pehchan Numbers. If your family comes in any of the categories given below, your Family ID can be cancelled – and with it, your ration card, pension and other benefits can also stop.

So check carefully – is your family in this list?

Which Families’ Family ID Will Be Cancelled?

As per the deactivation rules, a Parivar Pehchan Number and the family’s information can be deactivated in these situations:

  1. All Members Have Migrated Out of Haryana – If the whole family has shifted outside Haryana permanently, the Family ID will be deactivated. PPP benefits are only for genuine residents of Haryana.
  2. No Member Remains in the Family – If no member of the family having a Parivar Pehchan Number remains in the family unit, the ID will be closed.
  3. No Member of the Family Is Alive – If all members recorded in the Family ID have passed away and the record is not updated, the ID will be deactivated.
  4. Head of Family Himself Requests Cancellation – The head of the family can make a written request to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Authority for deactivation of the Family ID.

Apart from this, if a registered member is no longer living with the family, or a member has died, that member’s record will be removed or updated – and an outdated record that is never corrected can create problems for the whole family.

Why Has the Government Taken This Decision?

The aim is simple – the PPP database should show only real, current families of Haryana. Benefits like BPL ration, pension, scholarship and Ayushman treatment are decided from this one database. If dead persons, migrated families or wrong members stay in the records, the benefit of a poor family goes to the wrong place.

That is why the government is cleaning the database. Genuine families who live in Haryana and keep their records updated have nothing to fear from this decision.

New Power for Family Heads: Remove Any Member

A big new provision has also come. Now the head of the family can request removal of a specific member from the PPP by applying to the CEO of the Haryana Family Identity Authority. On such a request, that member’s data is deleted from the system.

The government has also upgraded the online “Delete Unwanted Member” module. Earlier, many families complained that unknown or wrongly added names were showing in their Family ID and removing them was very difficult. Now citizens can start the removal request online, without running to government offices again and again.

How to Check If Your Family ID Is Safe?

Do these 4 checks today itself:

  1. Step 1: Check your Family ID status and member list on the Mera Parivar portal or at your nearest CSC.
  2. Step 2: See if any member who has died, married and shifted, or left the family is still showing in your ID. If yes, get the record updated immediately.
  3. Step 3: Confirm your current address. If your family has an old address of a place you have left long ago, update it.
  4. Step 4: If a wrong or unknown name is showing in your Family ID, apply through the Delete Unwanted Member module or through CSC to remove it.

What If Your Family ID Is Cancelled by Mistake?

First, do not panic. Go to your nearest CSC, Saral Kendra or Atal Seva Kendra with your Aadhaar cards and address proof and ask for the reason of deactivation in writing. If your family is genuinely living in Haryana, apply for correction or re-activation with proper documents. Keep copies of every application and reference number safe.

Remember – if you really live in Haryana and your documents are correct, your ID can be corrected. The danger is only for those who ignore the notice and never update their record.

FAQs

Q1. Will my Family ID be cancelled if one member works outside Haryana?

No. Deactivation is for families where ALL members have migrated out of Haryana. One member working outside for a job does not cancel the family’s ID, but the member list should be correct.

Q2. A member of my family has died. What should I do?

Get the death recorded and the member’s name updated in the Family ID through CSC or the portal with the death certificate. Keeping a deceased member in the record creates problems later.

Q3. Can I remove a member from my Family ID myself?

The head of the family can request removal of a member by applying to the CEO of the Haryana Family Identity Authority, and wrong or unknown members can be removed through the upgraded Delete Unwanted Member module.

Q4. I have shifted to another district inside Haryana. Will my ID be cancelled?

No. Shifting inside Haryana does not cancel your ID. Just update your new address in the Family ID.
